HAPPY RELEASE DAY! Our new album, Curiosity, is out today! My cat already got a copy on CD, LP and cassette…our biggest fan.
Here’s where you can get the album:
And you can stream it here:
Wampire’s debut full-length hit stores yesterday!
If your cat’s like mine and walks across the keyboard of your laptop whenever you’re trying to afqewgshjertjh (type), there are some handy links above that will send you to buy or listen to the record depending on where s/he puts their paws.

Dusted’s debut album, Total Dust, is one I’ve found myself returning to time and time again since it was released last July.
If you missed it the first time around, check out the brand new video for “Bruises” above and stream the entire record on our site.

What is the best book you ever read?
My friend Ethan got me into this habit where I only read the last page of a book and feel immediately disgusted or tricked by the entire thing, to the point where I just don’t read it at all. I kind of stopped doing that because you get to a really fatalistic point just understanding the endings of things. One of the only books that didn’t make me mad when I did this was Anne Carson’s “Autobiography of Red” cause it was so smart it probably predicted pretentious dickheads like myself pulling some kinda shit, and offered up a last page that made me want to read the whole thing backwards.
What are you allergic to?
Luckily, I don’t think I have any allergies to foods, medications or natural elements. How many people answer this question “Bullshit.” or better still “Mondays.”?? That would be hilarious!!
What’s your favorite piece of gear?
I try to think about gear as little as possible so that I don’t fall into the trap of thinking a certain type of gear will make a so-so song better. I do really love this small reel-to-reel tape player that I got a few years back and I use it on almost every recording I do.
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Used to be a cat person, but when I started spending more time with Amber’s dog Kuma, my heart was changed forever.
If you could trade places with any person (dead or alive) for a day in their life, who would it be?
It would be good to trade places with yourself at some different point in your life and either tell yourself what’s going on in the future or see where you’re going to be ultimately. Or like trade places with yourself A WEEK OR TWO INTO THE FUTURE!! Just so you could come back and be like “Oh my god, things are going to be so incredibly subtly different soon!!” Or it would be cool to trade places with someone you don’t like at all and act the exact opposite of how they do to either tarnish their name or redeem their idiocy. But if none of that could happen I would just trade places with someone incredibly smart or incredibly excessive cause I can never figure out how people think so quickly or stay high as hell 24/7, yet they do.
Even though he didn’t really adhere to the whole “shorter answers” aspect of this feature, we love Fred over here so I’m gonna post his responses anyway.

It’s only May, but it’s never too early to start thinking about our set-up for the CHIRP Record Fair at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival.
Sadly, this will be the first time in five years I won’t be able to attend, but we’ve got a great crew who will be heading up — including Patrick, who is currently putting together some vinyl crates.
The whole project’s only taken about 70 man hours. Which isn’t bad considering he carved it all by hand from one piece of wood.
Green Blood - Sonny and the Sunsets
This is so amazing
I’m literally in love with this album
It’s like Sci-Fi Velvet Underground
I’ve recently gotten hooked on Orphan Black and Defiance, so Sonny & The Sunsets’ new album is the perfect soundtrack to both of those shows
(And it still sounds pretty good even when you’re not watching episodes about cloning conspiracies or a post-alien invasion Earth).
Pre-order the limited edition purple vinyl here!

Hyper-rhythmic San Francisco duo The Dodos have announced that they have signed with Polyvinyl Records.
Really excited these guys have joined the label!
Our former production manger Megan (whose job I took over) listened to Visiter about a billion times in the office, so I feel like they’ve already been a part of my life for years.
Details about their new album soon to come…
Tim, our in-house designer
(Why you should never show a potential intern’s resume to a graphic designer.)
Check out the Curiosity clear LPs! These (along with the CDs and tapes) are shipping now from POLYVINYL.
The album doesn’t officially come out until 5/14…BUT all pre-orders now receive an instant download for the ENTIRE ALBUM at checkout through PV. AND if you already pre-ordered, your download link should be active now.
Hope you like it!!!
